GLBR District all star families,

we are tentatively scheduled for a first team practice this Sunday (5/28) at Lovettsville Park from 4-6pm. I realize folks may be out of town for the Holiday weekend, therefor we will not conduct our parent / coaches meeting. We are tentative due to the weather (possible rain) but if your athlete is in town, please have them attend this initial district all star team practice. I will send out a practice update Sunday morning regarding weather and field conditions should it be a factor.

Congratulations and welcome to the GLBR district 9 tournament team!

Your son demonstrated over the course of this season and at the Sunday assessments to possess the requisite baseball skills to represent Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth at this summer's district 9 tournament. The district 9 tournament will be highly competive and this fine group of players will compete well together. 
 

My name is Ted Bratrud and will be serving as your manager and serving alongside me will be coach Ryan McCullough. Both of us will bring all of our focus, energy and commitment into quickly molding this group of excellent ball players into one complete baseball unit.
 

We do not yet know of the exact district tournament date, although it will be either the final weekend of June or first weekend of July (tentarively looking like weekend of June 29th - 30th) and will be local (Loudoun County / Winchester). The tournament will begin on a Thursday and finish on Sunday pending advancement. If we win the district tournament, we will advance to the state tournament slated for July 13th in Williamsburg. Regionals (if we advance) would be July 25th in Greenville, NC.
 

We will begin practicing on Sunday's (possibly beginning this Sunday) until the GLBR post season play is over at which point we will practice up to four days a week leading up to the tournament. 
 

We will have a parent / coach staff meeting at one of the first practices to communicate player and coach expectations and communicate how these tournaments operate - very different than what you have experienced thus far this spring. 
 

I will set up a team group text in the coming days but will communicate formal team information via this GLBR forum. Please be on the lookout for information about uniforms, registration, forms, etc in the coming week.

Thank you again for selecting your son to play in our great league and on behalf of the GLBR board and I, we very much look forward to watching this impressive group perform at the tournament!
