2010 Post-Season Tournaments
|
Hosted by GLBR:
14-year-old World Series
13-15 year-old State tournament
District Tournaments (TBD)
UPDATE: GLBR will have an immediate berth into the 14-year-old World Series and the 13-15 year-old State tournament. GLBR will also have at least one 13-year-old District team, a separate 14-year-old team to compete in the 14-year-old District tournament (i.e. not the same team as the WS team) as well as another 13-15 year-old District team to compete in the 13-15 year-old District tournament ((i.e. not the same team as the State team).
All players must play at least 50% of the regular season games in their respective age division to be eligible to try out for the District teams.
If you are a "baseball 13" and play in the 13-year-old Prep division, you can try out for the 13-year-old team. You do not need a special invitation from a manager in order to try out for the District team.
If you are a "baseball 14" and play in the 14/15-year-old division, you can try out for the 14-year-old district team.
If you are a "baseball 15" and play in the 14/15-year-old division, you can try out for the 13-15-year-old district team.
If you are a "baseball 16 to 18" and play in the 16-18-year-old division, you can try out for the 16-18-year-old district team. Some years we may have a 16-only district team as well.
GLBR District teams will play in their respective age-group District Tournament against other District 8 teams. If the team wins, it will advance and represent District 8 in the Virginia State Babe Ruth Tournament. Again, if the team wins, it will advance to the Southeast Regional Tournament (SER) representing Virginia. Finally, winning the SER, will advance the team into the Babe Ruth World Series for its age group. District 8, VA State, and SE Region websites will have the locations as soon as they are determined. See our " Important Links" page to find these sites.
Note: When hosting a State, SER, or World Series tournament, the host league is allowed an immediate berth into that tournament.
